Goodbye 2020

Updated: Jan 8, 2021

Next weekend is the last training session of 2020 and frankly, we'll all be glad to welcome 2021.

It's fair to say that we didn't get all done that we were hoping for this year with our big tournament and at least one beginner's training falling foul of the restrictions. However, on the plus side, I think we've rolled with the punches pretty well and this has been balanced by a resurgence of interest from people who were cooped up in lockdown. We've just successfully completed the much-disrupted beginner's block and we've got a very healthy number of study groups and classes running.

So, for 2021 here's a rough overview:

We're thinking that classes will start back on the 17th of January, though this is still to be confirmed by the venue.

We're planning to have both a new Beginner Longsword class and a more advanced Longsword class from January. There are also study groups in Rapier, Sidesword and Sabre for those who are interested.

The summer tournament is expected to take place at the end of February on the 28th (TBC shortly).

We're just finalising when we expect the next beginners block to take place so expect details of that shortly.
